H.O.T. has several Greyhounds who have or are in need of vet care over and above the normal. If you would like to help H.O.T. with these bills by making a donation, it would be most appreciated. Checks or money order can be mailed to the address in the left hand column and PayPal donations can be made using the link at the bottom of each of the Greyhounds' info..
You can read more about
  Candy,
  Chase, and
  Jessica,
on the H.O.T. Hounds pages.

UPDATE: For the week of May 15th through 22nd, all donations made to help H.O.T. with the vet bills for these three Greyhounds will be matched by one of our wonderful H.O.T. families!
UPDATE: You still have one more day to make a donation to help H.O.T. with the vet bills.
Update on Candy: She will now be needing a toe amputation due to the open sore on her foot not healing properly. Her foster mom, Laura, is doing a greyt job helping Candy with her recuperation.
Update on Chase: He has an adoptive family to go to as soon as his dental needs have been completed.
Update on Jessica: She is doing greyt and has not had a seizure since she started on her Phenobarital. She is a beautiful gal who will make some lucky family a wonderful companion.
Thank you to everyone for the offered prayers for these three special hounds!

Rehoming a Greyhound
REHOMING A GREYHOUND

I didn't really want you, I wasn't really sure
And I'll admit I had my doubts when you came through that door
Not small, or cute, or fluffy, with big soft puppy eyes,
But tall and thin and bony, with bald pink bulging thighs.
You weren't the kind I had in mind, not in any way.
Perhaps it would be better, if I took you back today
Before we know each other, it really won't be kind,
To keep you here for one more day and then to change my mind.
But against my better judgement, I decided you could stay and quickly I discovered, you were kind in every way.
Your gentleness and patience really stole the show
"Why! These dogs are wonderful, I must let others know"
You're my gentle giant, who just needed a chance,
To show us all what you could be, to wipe away that history.
Dispel our preconceptions, that put us all to shame
and so we come to know and love, what lies beneath that frame.
And now I've come to understand, what I missed at the start,
That Greyhounds need that great deep chest.....
To house their great big hearts.

Tipp Robin and his graduating
class Tipp Robin working his
magic on a patient during a visit
Tipp Robin kna Ronin and his graduating class for Therapy Dogs, Inc. Also shown with his mom, Gaye, visiting a patient and working his magic. Not bad for a Greyhound which was labeled "vicious and unadoptable" early on in his life. It just took the right combination of time (to allow Ronin to mature), patience (to find the RIGHT adoptive home), right adoption group (H.O.T., who allowed Ronin to shine and become the Greyhound we knew he could be) and right adopter (Gaye, you are super!) to give Ronin the chance he needed.
Thanks to John Dalton for trusting H.O.T. to do right by Ronin!
